Savannah, GA - Richard V. Moore, age 81, died Sunday, May 6, 2007, at Hospice House.
The Granville County, NC native had lived in Savannah for the past fifty years. He was an engineer with Seaboard Coastline Railroad, retiring after thirty-five years of service. Mr. Moore was chairman of the local Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers for twelve years and was a member of Creasy Proctor Masonic Lodge in Fayetteville, NC. He was also a member of Southside Baptist Church.
Surviving are his beloved wife of fifty-six years, Latrelle Moore, of Savannah; daughters, and sons-in-law, Lisa and Bob Tuck of Warner Robins, GA and Linda and Dean Collins of Dacula, GA; four grandchildren, Sarah Tuck, Christopher Tuck, Jared Collins and Jacob Collins; a sister-in-law, Nancy Moore of Durham, NC; and several nieces and nephews, including Rose Hardy, Averett Moore, Ed Johnson and John Johnson, all of Durham, NC.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Tuesday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
The family suggests that remembrances be made to Hospice Savannah, Inc., P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416 or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
